Meet Lily

I’m Lily Smith. Currently, I’m a visual journalist at the Des Moines Register. From July 2020 to January 2023 I was a visual journalist with the Omaha World-Herald. I graduated from the University of Iowa in the spring of 2020 with my degree in journalism and mass communications and a writing certificate. I worked at the Daily Iowan, the university’s student paper, in various visual roles and as a student photographer at Iowa Athletics.

Outside of work, I love reading about popular culture and music, cooking and baking for friends, and playing with my cat Jelly. I can be reached on Instagram, Twitter or by email. I am available for assignment.
